A day at the P A R K!

Ryley and Grace hold Kai's hands. The girls were so happy that the baby was in the swing.Kai's first time in the swing. LOVE the chubby legs!
Kai was giggling and smiling. She really liked it! She's such a doll!

Open House

On Thursday night we attended Ryley's Open House at her Pre-School. We had no idea that every class would be preforming that evening. At the end, the entire school sang two songs together. It was very cute to see all the little ones up on stage. However; Ryley was in one of her "moods" she only participated when she wanted to. Maybe it was stage freight? But we doubt it.
Ryley was so excited she couldn't wait to show us her "projects" she has been working on. She gave us the grand tour of her school and class. She even showed us the "drinking fountain".Every class performed several different songs.

All the kids got an instrument (they made) to play while they sang.

Ryley was so excited over her sunflower. She finally got to bring it home!

Stranger Magnet

This is such a funny story I thought I would share it with all of you.

My sisters are always telling me that I am a total stranger magnet. They say that it doesn't matter where we go, someone always feels the need to talk to me. They just don't talk to me they feel the need to invade my personal space.

Lately, I've started realizing that they are right. Soooo today I went to Costco. Randomly enough a stranger asked if she could help me pick out a watermelon? Okay I let her help me. We stood there slapping watermelons until we could hear a louder echo. She told me that the louder echo means that the watermelon is ready to eat. At least I can say that I now know how to pick a watermelon. Thank you to the stranger, who I saw again as I was exiting.

While waiting in line to buy lunch another total random stranger began talking to me. This time this stranger must of felt really comfortable because she put her groceries inside my cart before she asked if she could place them down because they were getting to heavy for her. She proceeded to talk to us and asked Ryley what her sister's name was. Well as we've said before, Ryley has a different name for her sister everyday. She told the stranger her name is Mia. Ryley didn't flinch, giggle, or smile. She was serious. The lady started telling us about a Mia she knows. I didn't correct her and tell her Kai's real name. Before I knew it, the lady was cooing at Mia aka Kai and calling her Mia. Ryley kept talking to her sister (they were sitting side by side in the Costco shopping cart) and calling her Mia. Ryley told the lady that she accidentally hit Mia with her elbow and Mia cried. We kept the ladies groceries in our cart until after we both bought our food. She said goodbye to Ryley and Mia.

In Spanish Mia means mine, it's a cute nickname...Mia Kai

The darnest things kids say...

On our way to swim lessons, Ryley saw a horse and told me that the horse was dead, because it was on laying on the dirt. I tried to reassure her that it was not dead. On our way home she saw it again and yelled out, "look mommy it's not dead", the horse was walking around in it's horse stable.

On our way home Ryley saw a cow laying down...she said, "mommy that cow fell on it's booty it really really hurt itself". Where does she come up with this? The cow was taking a break and laying on the grass.

Little Miss Helper

It never seems to fail...no matter who is cooking...inside or outside...Ryley will whip out her apron and drag her stool to help. Some of you may think it's cute, others know the mess they create.
What do you get when you let a four-year old help you make something?
Answer: EGGSHELLS

Lil Tank

Kai is getting soooo big before our very eyes. She is starting to scoot backwards! We leave her in one place and she turns up in another. She is pushing up with her arms and holding herself in place for quite some time. She is starting to bring her legs forward and stays in this position while she watches Ryley play in circles around her. Ryley keeps crawling around Kai and says, "like this Kai." This is all happening way to fast, her first year is flying by! It's funny how we compare and think back to our other kids. Ryley's first year seemed like an eternity. As you can see in the pics Kai is sporting a little tummy. She never skips a meal! She's already wearing 6-12 month clothes. Ryley fit in these pants when she was about a year old. It is so wonderful and amazing to see such differences in our girls. They are extremely different and are both such blessings.

Memorial Day

Long may it wave! Thank you to all the American soldiers who have given their lives for their country. We proudly honor the hundreds and thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives during the World War II, but this day is also a way to honor and salute all of the soldiers from all wars. We thank them for protecting our freedom, for the right and privilege we have to be free in this country. God Bless America! The Land of the Free!

Our Beautiful American Flag!

We had a small get away over Memorial weekend. We went up to Big Bear (which is about 50 miles from us) and got to do some fishing, walking, sight-seeing, and we also got a sneak peek at the cabin Ryley was sooo excited)!

Quiet Kiddos=Trouble

Ryley and Merrick were so quiet, we walked into the family room to check up on them and found that they had grabbed a box of cereal of their choice, sat on top of the coffee table and were munching on the cereal...Mini Wheats are really dry! It could've been worse.

Visitors!!

That looks just like mine!
Curious Kai

My Buddy and Me!
How do I look?

Up to no good...

Ice pops anyone?

We can't believe it! We finally have our first brave visitor (besides fam) who was willing to spend the night...The Donovan's!! We've had a lot of fun showing them around. The kids gave us a small breather, they've been playing & eating outside, watching movies, playing dress up and anything they can think of doing! Even Kai has a new friend...Memphis! She played with his toes, tried to touch his face and take his binky away (it's so cute how they can be so small and already so inquisitive).

The next...American Idol???

This is to funny not to post!! Ryley's faces are hilarious. She looks like she's in pain trying to belt out the tune! We actually think it really shows off her personality...she's sooo dramatic! She has really taken a liking to karaoke since her birthday party...thanks Tia Isabel. Ry is always asking if she can sing!
